Eh, they ended up not being very "direct" come to find out, on leaner side of equation actually.

I tested a set of injectors from a slightly lean detonated 500 efi a year or 2 ago that were Bosch 36.5 lb 3800/3.8 supercharged injectors that were sent to me, the engine re-builder (panther- Geronimo 36 Frank at FU marine ) who was fixing the detonated motor said his customer had bought them from a guy who said they were a "dead match" with "exact characteristics" of the OEM injector and had "hundreds of sets out there", I don't HOWEVER, know WHO that guy was that sold them to him as there are a lot of people selling injectors. What I DO know is whoever it was, they took the time to grind the numbers off each of them with a pencil grinder as to keep anyone from figuring out what they were and they were close in some places and lean/rich as much as 15 to 20% in other so nowhere near a "dead" match, Ive never found any injector thats a "dead" match for a 500 efi, found ones that were close but IMO a re-tune is only safe way to switch. When Frank had that stock 500 finished and tuned it I remember him telling me it needed more fuel in quite a few places in tune and he was surprised as they are normally rich
For OPs question, I hear injectors tick sometimes on my dyno when exhaust is on it, if there ticking, there working fwiw

But does your boat currently have any problems besides the injector tick your hearing which is pretty much normal? I wouldnt run out and change things all around if not needed, I'd just have your injectors flowed and tested if you have any concerns, I do offer that service on my state of the art ASNU machine BUT any qualified shop that has a decent machine , knows how to do them properly and takes time to do it right can do them for you so lots of choices there, maybe even some place local to you.If boat runs fine, plugs look good, id have them tested in off season and just drive it
