Oil level in Hardin 11qt pan
I have 11 qt Hardin marine oil pans with melling billet pumps. 4.25 stroke. I’m using universal lokar dipsticks and just trying to find a safe
zone to mark the stick. I realize number of quarts will vary with hoses, coolers etc. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...491008b96.jpeg |
Can't just put 11Qts of oil in, fire motor and mark the sticks?

Full should be (typically) Just under the windage tray.

There seems to be some evidence that running oil a quart or so low even with a windage tray increases hp and reduces aeration

The pan doesn’t have any extra plugs in the side for oil returns that you could get a look through?

here’s a few pics with part number. If anyone can identify appreciate it. It has 2 - 1/4” pipe ports on left and 3 on the right. I rarely call tech support but did Hardin today and the guy was a complete jerk and rude and said it’s not one of their pans…. OK 😂
Does it look like a 10 or 12? Told him I did purchase new from an OSO member which I did and then I got the whole oh you bought from some site on the internet! Don’t waste my time. They may have been NOS #755-8121 number was upside down on the right side. Did a search on 755 and 766 etc and didn’t come up with anything. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f8395acfd.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f8d55de4b.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f77c54e0c.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...a1a4f84c3.jpeg |

That is an old eickert pan that Hardin Marine manufactured. They were discontinued back in 2014. It is a 10QT Gen 4 Pan.
