Oil level in Hardin 11qt pan

I have 11 qt Hardin marine oil pans with melling billet pumps. 4.25 stroke. I’m using universal lokar dipsticks and just trying to find a safe
zone to mark the stick. I realize number of quarts will vary with hoses, coolers etc.

Can't just put 11Qts of oil in, fire motor and mark the sticks?

Full should be (typically) Just under the windage tray.

thats the part that kinda sucks is I had the speed shop assemble and they just put 9 qts in as I see it’s written on the pan but have no clue where that puts it at. I should probably put a call into Hardin and see what they say. I’d think should be 11 qts plus a quart in addition for the hoses etc but wanna be certain within reason.

tks

There seems to be some evidence that running oil a quart or so low even with a windage tray increases hp and reduces aeration

The pan doesn’t have any extra plugs in the side for oil returns that you could get a look through?

getrdunn 08-17-2022 02:29 PM

here’s a few pics with part number. If anyone can identify appreciate it. It has 2 - 1/4” pipe ports on left and 3 on the right. I rarely call tech support but did Hardin today and the guy was a complete jerk and rude and said it’s not one of their pans…. OK 😂

Does it look like a 10 or 12?

Told him I did purchase new from an OSO member which I did and then I got the whole oh you bought from some site on the internet! Don’t waste my time.

They may have been NOS #755-8121

number was upside down on the right side. Did a search on 755 and 766 etc and didn’t come up with anything.

That is an old eickert pan that Hardin Marine manufactured. They were discontinued back in 2014. It is a 10QT Gen 4 Pan.

had the same problem when i called them about a oil filter adapter. the first guy was rude , dismissive and treated my questions like i was so stupid for not knowing the answers.

and then to top it off when i told him i didnt appreciate the attitude he hung upon me.

so not taking it from them i called back and got the "manager". told him about the situation, that i spent 20k with them and my question was completely valid. and you know what he told me? that if i didnt like the treatment i could return everything and take my business elsewhere and hung up on me.

**** these asshats, do yourself a favor and spend your money with someone who wants your business.

Yeah, had the same interaction with customer service when asking about an exhaust I had questions about.

I went elsewhere.

I see they haven't changed one bit.
