I heard there was some kind of a fix for the front seals blowing out. Valako was mentioning it but wasn’t real certain.

Seems to me it's probably the transmission and not the drive. I'd get the drive off to see what it feels like disengaged from the trans. Maybe an issue in the tailstock?
Does that seem possible? I guess if it was completely grenaded and tore up inside I could see the prop shaft rotating hard???

That side had a clicking and vibration. When I got it apart, all of the springs were gone and the plate was cracked. I assumed that it came apart because of that (seemed reasonable). May have been the pump seal issue mentioned earlier. it dumped fluid in it faster than you could put it in.

Tom you were right. I pulled the drive back today and spins as free as can be. As hard as that to turn over and time even couldn’t I would’ve never thought the tranny would do that. I just don’t normally get lucky like that. Now I have to ask myself do I pull that engine and tranny and use one of my fresh stock rebuilds for another weekend or possible two of running or do I say screw it. If it was earlier in the week I’d likely do it. Realistically it would take me about 8 sober hours but still a lot of work for what little time is left up here.

I’d put your good backup in it and go boating. Your rebuild should hold up. That’s what I’d do.
