The tiny increase sanding 'may' help speed doesn`t outweight how much faster it will get dirty and look like crap.
I did ceramic coat couple years ago... I don`t remember spraying acid on it since or getting very dirty.

Best decision I have made on the bottom is spraying with single Imron single stage paint. No more stained hull and everything washes off easily. I've done 2 of my boats like this and highly recommend it if your OCD like I am about keeping things clean.

Dan,

Agreed. It works on our model boats, and full-size race teams, because we wash them after every event or test session. We also have a tendency to build a new one every couple years, if not sooner. I was not advocating for the practice on our full-sized boats. Just noting that it DOES have an reducing effect on parasitic drag.

Thanks. Brad.
