Cracked down a water jacket, I bit the bullet and ordered a new GM Performance 602 Block from Summit. They had 3 in stock I will have it in 6-8 days.Originally Posted by compedgemarine
cracked where? if it is to the outside they can weld it as it only holds water pressure. if it is a cylinder can it be sleeved? if it is to the lifter valley side then scrap it but I have seen plenty of blocks fixed

I agree, IF its a block from a gen 7 from a 8.1, its got a metric deck height that converts to 10.222 , has a 4.250 bore and 18 head bolts with a different pattern. So the OP should have seller measure the cylinders with anything as 4.250 vs 4.500 will rule it out as not even a candidate.
I decided to just buy a new Gen 6 502 Block from Summit i GM performance and avoid additional BS! MY backordered Holley HP system arrives today, my Cam comes Wednesday and the new EMI dry tip risers come Wednesday. Hopefully I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and still get on the water this summer with this boat. I'm a long ways from there but I'm putting in the wrench time and getting it done!!!! Ill for sure post up progress of this and I'm sure I will have plenty more questions!! LOL

On the next go around lol. He does good work but the timeframe is HORRIBLE! But i look at it this way, eat crow on this one because if I make a stink its going to just hurt me more than him! but when it comes time to pay up well we can chat about how I found out about a bad block in last few days of APRILOriginally Posted by tgorbett
Awesome. I would also put in the time and fire your machine shop and find a new one.
