So I spent the whole day 7hrs with mild thunder he got my boat running good.

we did run into a little issue that took 3 hrs to figure out. I’m gonna ask him to come in and out it into his own words. I definitely think it would help the community out out if some one would run into this issue.

I just read we’re the some of the OSO community might have ran him off. I truly hope this isn’t the case because the community is sadly missing someone not only knows his **** he loves boating and high power.

if he chooses not to come in post I will share. The information.

I’ve been on OSO for a long time and people like griff and Icdpl hope I spelled that right have always chimed in and answered me. Im so great full to have a place I can come and ask questions and all of you boys help. The only issue I have is I wish I could also do the same thing one day and help and return the favor to the community. Thank all of you loyal OSO boys! I truly appreciate it.

This is what happens when the community comes together.

Hey Griff and fellow oso pals! I know I havent been on here much if at all the past few years. Wasnt really anything to do with the oso drama, mainly just because I sold my boat and have got into other hobbies. I still tinker with some boat stuff here and there, but mostly been doing the classic car thing. Recently got done with my 78 T/A I installed an LS3 in with Holley EFI , Tremec trans and so on.

As for Ubet28's Fountain , it had MSD setups with the timing locked. He had a local guy install the Daytona ignitions. Yesterday, I met him at his lake, uploaded the timing maps I had made. Now idles at 18* and adds 14* if the idle dips below 750rpm. Made a few tweaks to the carbs and off we went. Got up on plane, cruised at 3000RPM, gave it a little throttle and bam, starboard engine quits like you turned the key off. Opened hatch, everything looked fine, started it up and got going again. This happened two more times. Just the ignition completely cutting out over 3000-3500. I pulled a datalog, started checking connections, really scratching my head. Then when in the bilge I had noticed the coil wire was draped across the top of the ignition box. I thought "let me move this wire away from the box , maybe its getting some RFI or something" , and finally the problem was solved.

Unfortunately by that time it was getting late and I had a 2.5 hour drive home. The carbs could probably use a little further tweaking, but overall, the boat is very useable now. Starts up well, Idles around 950, and only drops to 750 when shifted into gear. Ubet said it used to drop to 500rpm and sputter when shifted into gear with the old setup. Hopefully now he will get to enjoy and use his boat .

Mild Thunder, I have seen your car, it is very nice. Are you interested in showing it at the Chicago World of Wheels? If so let me know. Sorry for the hi jack.

Hey, is that you Bandit?

So the coil wire across the control box would cause the engine to quit over 3k RPM? That's interesting.

Thanks for the info.

Hey Buddy drove the boat all day yesterday cleaned the transom off Friday night at the beach we stayed at. Boated all day Saturday idled in the marina Saturday night waiting to load for a good 15mins Not a lick of soot on the transom! The boat is running the best it ever has! For me it’s perfect I’m sure you would be able to dial it in a tad more. But that’s something I’m gonna learn to do. For now I’m gonna just use the boat. It’s been a whole year of owning her and this weekend is the first time I was able to just whip into the dock load the boat on the trailer like I’ve been running a blower motor boat for years!

Still need seat time with the boat of that size props turned in and blowers. But man with you and the boys on here that boat might of been for sale! Thank you so much Joe and OSO boys for steering me in the right direction.

if anyone is having the issues that have been spoken about in this thread. Do not think twice about changing to Daytona sensors cd1 boxes. They have completely fixed my problems and my boat is manageable and do able!

yes I boated all day Saturday and the boat didn’t miss a beat after Mild thunder moved the coil wire. I can express how much these boxes change my boat! Absolutely amazing my wife my son both told me man this boat is running great and you look so much more comfortable driving it.

before this weekend I was told I needed to wear this shirt! Lol
