Hey Dave, I thought that would make you come out of the woodwork. The only person who is pushing the removal of the blower, is Mark Schnepf at Activator. He is telling me to save the drive, albeit I've had no problems so far. I'm pretty conservative when running it and I DO like the power.
US1 Fountain runs a 250 blower on his 27 Fountain. He has had it on and off more than once and told me if I ever removed it, that I would be putting it back on.
I would like a better idle quality and low speed performance which could lead me to Boost Referencing, something Nickerson doesn't do.
I wonder why he doesn't do that?

Hey jdnca1, at what duration do you need to worry about reversion? He has lightning headers, I am pretty sure that 250's/260's is still fine, but how big is too big??

I had GIL manifolds on that BAJA with never any reversion. you should be OK with the wide (114) LSA's...I wouldn't want to try a 108 LSA Wette Vette runs a 272/280 @.050 on a 112 (I think) in a High CR 496, He has Wet Elbow top CMI's with no problems.

My CMI's are dry, so no worrys for me. 280/288 on 115.

My understanding has always been that LSA has more impact on reversion than duration...obviously to a point. ITLLFLY won't have to worry with that Nickerson cam I mentioned.

I didnt think reversion was an issue with a true (positive displacement) blower motor? Anybody?

The cam I'm running in my 502 with a procharger @ 7psi is the 741 ground on a 114 center. It idles great at 650-700rpm and pulls like a frieght train right up to 6000. I would definitly recommend that cam to anyone. No reversion problems yet although I'll be running ss emi risers with silent choice this spring. I'll keep you posted.

The Lightening headers I have put the water in the exhuast right before the tips on the inside of the transom. They were made to my special dimensions. They have runners that are plenty long. My tips are mounted about 4.5 inches below the standard Bravo set-up.

ITLLFLI- Good question, I only had it out twice after I got the box on and once was the cumberland poker run. The boat definately carrys different and takes the big water better. The first time I was out it was pouring down rain I made one pass on a short lake and showed 99 on GPS @5800 vs a normal 6000 at that speed. I really didn't get to play with trim much. I also know there are faster props than Bravo's. (all I could get on plane with before) We'll get some really good test #'s next spring, but I think its going to like a short shaft even more. If I can pick-up 5-7 mph when its all said and done I'll be happy. Some people claim 10-15mph gains but that is very hard for me to believe unless their X's were very low to start with.

You have the same motors as I do....I have Ultradyne cams...
575/601 @ 50...........114 LSA

650 hp...On dyno......run great.....
