I'm a firm believer in this philosophy. Never change the brakes on one wheel....

My old 32 Fountain stuff would intermittently not trim up or down. One of them just had some corrosion on the solenoid connectors and the other had a failing solenoid. I could whack it with a screwdriver handle or something and it would work...until it didn't. Cleaned the connections on the one, replaced the other worked that way until I sold it. Worth checking the connections if you don't want to throw parts at it.
I'll give them a whack and see if it "fixes" it, but all that will tell me is that it is definitely time to swap them out.

If a solenoid clicks they`re usually good. Get out the old volmeter and check for power .
I also use alligator jumpers when I`m in the bilge and don`t want to crawl over the seat .. as Walley described.

Not sure what year you have but my 1990 Bravo One trim pumps have an odd looking 110A fuse at the solenoid. I didn't realize they were fuses initially.
