Maintenance induced failures. Very good point.
My oil of choice is the new 20w50 VR1 with the low calcium and high zinc.
Do some oil sampling starting at 25hrs.
Lake has virgin VR1 baseline numbers on his YT oil channel.
I typically dunk my pistons/rings/wrist pins in oil before install. But I wipe off the piston crowns....lol.
I minimize the rotation of the engine before 1st fire-up.

turns the oil over almost twice a minute!
52 gal of paint to cover it
588psi of air to start it
72000 hr service life!!!
Starts getting good around the 10min mark on...
