I learn something new every day.
Buried and hard to find on the Mercury website is a somewhat new engine from the Quicksilver division. It's a flat plane small block! Not exactly inexpensive but 5800 RPM, 400 horsepower. There are a couple of videos floating around. They sound so different from a standard V8.

That is wild. We discussed before. I’m surprised. Would love to see the crank or hear one. Makes a normal v8 exhaust configuration work better but you wouldn’t gain much until high rpm with a normal cast manifold. Unless that manifold is special too.

What hull would you put them in?

I was thinking about that. Not much out there small enough with a fast hull for twins where you wouldn’t rather have big blocks. Old 27 magnums were twin small blocks. Some old hustlers were too and could be fast with surface drives or bravos. You’d want a 26-30 twin, maybe a fountain 32
