I like Holley carbs, easy to jet, get the carb number off choke horn and google it and it will take you to Holley website that gives the cfm, then get marine carb same size, maybe pic of carb, close up of choke horn to see numbers, switching to Edelbrock would require possible different fuel line hook up, just stick with what you have except a marine version, if it seems to run well switch the jets from current carb into marine carb, easy to do.

Maybe just in case check to see if your alternator has screens in back of them, if previous owner put non marine carb may have put non marine alternator, the screens apparently keep sparks from causing fires, explosions, like you almost had with gas spewing out your carb, fuel fumes are heavy and sink to bottom of bilge next thing ya know boom.

Once you know carb size put an add in the wanted section on this site, new carbs are stupidly expensive, most guys here aren’t gonna sell a completely worn out turd, may need a rebuild kit but good to go after that.
