Tech Q & A has been DEAD lately...

Kaama- If it weren't for you, the "Technical Q & A" part of this board would probably be shut down due to lack of use!!!
Actually, I don't respond too much anymore, as I'm not really imersed in anything motor or boating wise at the moment. Sometimes it is frustrating when someone responds to a post with some really good info based on personal experience, only to have this insight lost in a flurry of responses from people just giving an opinion for the heck of it, or from those trying to sell somthing...I guess that's the natue of an internet forum...I can live with it.
Lots of exciting topics to discuss; GMPP 572"...Vortec 525...don't really understand some of these moves as they seem rather confilcting....Could it be a FORD and Mercruiser partnership or....??Could it be the HP525 is going to be very short lived??If this is the end of the Gen 6, then why the 572 as smaller, faster winding motors might be a better ticket for autos...seems to me the intent of the 572 is for the marine industry.
Anyone heard of Worldclass Marine out of Ohio? They just quoted me a full hydraulic, twin cylinder, all hoses hardware, and helm for $2832 looks like anice set up...and about $700 less than the same thing in Mayfair...[Imust say that I can only use the type with the rams mounted close to the gimble housing]
Anyway Kaama , lots to talk about. Take Care, Berg

I was thinking the same thing the other day. During the summer months when everyone should be out boating, there are lots of questions and info flying around on here. Then when the temps turn cooler and everyone puts their boat away (and the tinkering begins)......DEAD....This forum starts collecting dust and cobwebs. As always, the GENERAL DISCUSSION forum is buzzing with activity. I just don`t understand the Tech section dying during the winter....

Guys, it's just that not everyone can be heavily involved ALL the time in mechanical doings..... there are other less "techie" things like wiring, hydraulic pumps & interiors (which is what I am involved in now). I pick up my bolsters this evening and now get to try to fit them into a boat they never have been in before (into Too Old's Sonic- now mine). Later this winter, after the Formula is finished, I will be begin the 454-420's from the Sonic...only they won't remain as 420's
.
This thing is going to outrun the blown Formula 312 when I'm done.... and do it naturally aspirated too!
Now I must move on to the more mundane things for the moment!!

well, we completely understand how unjust winter can be to boaters.
Well, OK if it makes you feel any better I did break a sweat changing out the CMI air pump/actuator for the tail pipe diverters this morning. In fact so sweaty had to jump in the pool to cool down, and it was FREEZING, like down to 80 degrees, BRRRRRR
bye bye

I think we'll leave this 'unjust' weather in the Chicago area and see how exactly how your weather is down there, especially since it sounds like your BT will be all fixed and ready to go!
(BTW, we definitely plan on attending the Miami show!)

Steve David, I enjoyed your response. You really know how to rub it in on us northern, winter laden Yankee folk!
Liquid Lounge, hey how are you? I know I'm always running my mouth on here. I know I may not always be right, but I guess I try to keep the pot stirred so as to provoke conversation. I enjoyed speaking with you on the phone a few months back---I'm sure you've got that boat of yours running in top shape.
Well at least we got a few responses so far. That's a good thing!
