Default water pick-up

What are the advantages or disadvantages of low-water pick-up verses standard pick-up on a bravo drive??

The low water pickup is strictly limited to those that are running a high x-dimension. It's purpose is to ensure that the engine is always fed by cooling water. It is not something that you want just because it makes for good benchracing. Because the pickup is so low, it is great for picking up muck everytime you drag bottom.

Aside from the plugging issues
already mentioned.
i have heard that the side mounts
are worth 2 mph over the low water p/u's
when over 80 mph.
Read this in PBM, also , when i was doing
a search, Treadwell mentioned something on
this.
I have low water pick ups, i'm going to
borrow the drives off of my friends boat
with side water p/u's and do some testing this spring.
will report back on this in april or may.
jt.

Unless you really need a low water pickup if you run a hogh X dimension I would not reccomend them. Specially if you run in any low or shallow water. They suck up to much junk in shallow water.
