GM HP3 vs. Merc 525???
#3
I was at the New York Boat show last week. I asked a rep. from the Mercruiser display why he didn't have an HP3 along with the HP500, HP525, 575SC that was on display. His answer was that they are not available yet. BUT, that still doesn't answer the question of why a performance test between these engines was not done yet.

You are correct, Mercury does not have anything to do with the HP3 but worry about how they will have to rethink their position in the performance world. Competition breeds better products for the consumer.

Troutly;
I didn't know that. But what you said about Merc. not having anything to do with this new motor makes sense. I guess that is why only G.M. guys talk about how great this motor is at A.P.B.A. races on SpeedVision. So, I guess that means the Merc. Rep. at the NYC Boat Show knows even less than I do!!
