I just read in dennis moore's book that all 350 marine engines were two bolts mains with cast cranks?

So does the mag motor really have forged crank and 4 bolt mains? I never knew cause I didn't take mine apart, just took it out and set in the back of the barn..

I have a 1989 350 Mag on my engine stand that is a two bolt main, a cast crank and no rollers. Unfortnately, a broken spring dropped an intake valve in the #6 cylinder and distroyed the block. I'm going to follow Traviss's lead and build a 383 with all the good stuff the 350 Mag should have had.

Default Intake

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but Im looking for some info on this intake

GM p/n 14096242

It's spoken about in the thread, does this intake work with the style heads that have the 4 different angled bolts around the carb? Thanks

I believe they will work with the Cast Iron Merc heads only.
I gave one to a friend who was intrigued with a cast iron hi-rise for a rat rod. He was miffed that the mounting surface angle wouldn't match up with the std chevy Al head.
If you are referring to the new GM fast burn/Vortec style head definitely not.
I finally sold the carbs and put the intakes in the dumpster

I have the old iron heads but my 4 center bolts around the carb are at a different angle than the rest.
