Default GM 7/16" dimple connecting rods

Are the cast or forged?

What HP are they good for?

What RMP are they good for?

FORGED,GREAT ROD WITH GOOD BOLTS IN THEM (INSTALL NEW ONES)
RPM DEPENDS ON PISTON SIZE ,LS-6 AND 7,,,,CHEVYS WOULD TURN 7K WITH NO TROUBLE WITH 454 PISTON WEIGHT ,,,H.P. I'D GUESS 8 TO 9 HUNDRED BUT DEPENDS ON RPM'S
ALOT OF VARABLES ''

I second what Bobby said. I know a guy that ran them in his 700 HP blown 468 with no issues for a lot of years. He ran 6000 RPM sustained. Chevy makes some good parts.

Amen, wish I re-lived them years. I have the dimple rods in my boat. At one time prior to re-proping I turned 7000 rpm for apprx 4 minutes. Was'nt paying attention to the tach, just the speedo. Did'nt do any harm whatsoever.

Second dimple rods. I ran them in a road racer with an idiot driver. He said he never turned over 7,000 and the motor just lost power. The telltale tach showed 8,000+. It was an 8,000 tach. We fired him, fixed the valve train and ran a whole SCCA season on the same motor, and never took the pan off. I LIKE dimple rods. But you are on your own!!!
That was an L-88 427 that was blueprinted, different cam

Thanks Guys.

How about in a 509 with 7/16 ARP bolts blue printed and balanced by Paul Pfaff.

My .02 If there new or reconditioned your ok. If not and they need rebuilt, go with aftermarket rods. The price difference will not be that much. Most after market rods come with floating pins which is a big plus.
