removing old name
i have removed 3 names from boats over the years and do not
beleive it brings "bad luck".
there is a product that i have used every time called jabsco paint remover for fiberglass surfaces. it is especially formulated to use on fiberglass surfaces.
after use wash with plain water and a mild soap, then use a light grit compound to take off the outline of the old name and buff entire transom.
this stuff is top notch!!!

Just spray it on and the letters will run right off. Just watch it and maybe rub it a little with a towel. Wash it off with water.
I was rubbing off a couple letters/hour with acetone.
BTW, dont use Easy Off on a painted boat, duh!
