pulling them out is No problem I did mine in about 10 mins R/R There are different 1's though some are cheap with the flappers inside as well as the plating. Honestly You get what you pay for with them

I had the same problem with my exhaust tips. Getting the old ones off was very difficult! Hammering from the inside out, took many hard hits. When I was finished removing, my Gel coat was cracked around the opening. I had to re-gel the openings. I installed tips from stainless marine with the metal/weighted internal flappers. Have not had a problem ever since!

Default Easier than you might think!

Install a two by four about 3 feet long into the tip (from the outside of the boat) and pry it up and down and it will come loose without damaging the gel coat.

if silicone is the problem your running into then go to a hardware store and get some thin piano wire...you can snake it down inbetween the tip and the boat and cut the silicone. it should be alot easier to get them out after that
