Question Fuel Gauge Jumping

At the end of the season my fuel gauge began to jump on occasion
In the downward or empty reading area. I pulled the dash to check for possible loose
connection but found nothing. Will check connections at the tank this spring, but also am thinking maybe the sending unit in the tank may be going. Any thoughts???
Thanks

there is a possiblity that the sending unit in the tank is sticking, this happens once in a while. also check the tank ground for a good clean connection, hpoe this helps

Sending unit.
Might get away with opening it up and using contact cleaner on the windings.

If you're going to that much trouble, though, get a new sender.
