Sorry, didn't mean to let the team down. If it makes you feel any better she got completely gutted last week. Every tool wiped and spit shined. Box got blown off, cleaned, and waxed. Everything then got put back nicely in it's place. No more junk on her or in her.

Starting to accumulate too many tools. I buy something from him every week.

WOW a lot of strong opinions here I have been a Matco dealer for 13 years #1 in the nation twice and in the top 25 for the last 10 years.I will honestly say that both Matco and Snap-On make great products Mac has too many internal problems.But in almost all cases its the dealer that makes the tool a warranty is only as good as the person standing behind it
You would be shocked at how much stuff is made in the same place I get tools shipped all the time that say Snap-On on the and I have freinds who are Snap on dealers and the y get Matco stuff.Everybody makes there own tool boxes and hard line (wrenches sockets etc.) rest is all private labeled by another manufacter otc, irwin,kd mayew etc.

It's Happy snappy day when the Snap-on guy arrives!

You hit the nail on the head for me. The company itself, not the tools, is the reason I don't buy from them.

They screwed up so bad on a tool box I bought from them it wasn't even funny. When I got ready to upgrade boxes I asked them if I was going to have the same problems or if they were taken care of. They told me they couldn't guarantee me anything. Told me I was on my own. Bought the Snap On box....problem solved. Again, nothing to do with the quality of the Mac.

My Snap On guy isn't shady like the Mac guys in our area either. All this adds up for me. I'm sure it's just the opposite in other areas.

i have been making my living with tools for over 25 years. I have all the brands in this poll and then some, when i first started it was all snap on, but what i found out is each co. has there good and bad and if your local dealer is not good you don't have much no mater what kind they are . I now use a lot of matco due to the dealer i have, he stocks everything you need and always takes care of your warenty needs. My snap on dealer is the worst i have ever had if you want to play with his dog or by hats he has got it and if you have something thats is broke forget it . i have close to 100.000 in tools and if a snap on tool breaks i just get a replacement from the matco dealer and through the snap on tool in the bottom of the box some day we will get a good snap on dealer and i will load him up with bad tools because they do break or wear out ,i have split more snap on sockets then anyone else's but i do like there wrenches better then the rest. air tools ingersall rand all the way

I have been in the automotive business all my life, from service to sales, and my father used to have several Snap-On tool trucks. With all that said, I will be the first to admit that certain tools may be superior when made by one manufacture over the other. Yes, I own a Snap-On tool box and it is primarly full of Snap-On tools, but there are other brands as well.

Like so many other things in this world no one manufacture builds or makes everything the best. Be a educated customer, find-out what tool is right for the job and who builds it the best.

The service of the tool is quite essential too. All of the top manufactures will warrant their tools, but if you can not get proper service its all for not and that's a large part of what you are paying for.

Demand good service from who ever you choose to do business with or take your hard earned money elsewhere!
