I've used alot of different cams in those motors and the cam I mentioned in the other thread is hard to beat the 741 crane and in that motor the 114* cam is better ,I have dynoed some cams I've had made and they make 40 to 45 more h.p. and better fuel usage but for all around use those cranes are good and change springs and you need to add screw in studs ,send me the box and we can fix it or to AZ.speed and marine ,
The cam helps alot and if you can't replace the heads get a pocket port job done and a valve job with a serti machine ,that will really help

Bobby.....
What sort of power gain would you typicaly see in the addition of the 741 cam? I also have Gil manifolds and high flow KN filter set up. Looking at the specs on the cam it seems quite large for a 8.75 compression engine but I searched and seen a lot of people running it. Whats your e-mail address?

droopey the 731 will accelerate harder but will run on big end ,not bad though ,,I would install cam (741) 4* advanced to 5*
I do like to raise the comp. to 9to1 also if the heads are off
the cam on the dyno is around 75 to 90 but I change other things too,, this is a close estimate though on just the cam .
P M me if you need any thing
