22' Scarab Prop
I'm new to OSO and just recently purchased a 1998 22' Scarab. I'm very pleased with the boat overall however I know it needs a new prop. At this time it has a 21" pitch Mirage Plus that is rough around the leading edge of the blades. As it is it will push past 5000RPM if the rev limiter or I were to allow it, and has a tendency to blow out in the turns.
I'm looking for good overall performance in the top end. I have read good things about the Mirage Plus, Revolution 4 and Bravo 1. The engine is a stock 7.4 MPI 310HP using the Bennett tabs. Has anyone on the list found a good setup for this boat? I would greatly appreciate your experiences.
Much Thanks

I agree with dadinator.....I am currently running a 23p mirage plus on my baja and have talked to several scarab owners running the exact same. I'd like to get a 25p though.

GREAT INFO ABOVE! Our experiences have been just as mentioned with the 22' Scarabs. The Mirage Plus is a great prop for this boat.
Robyw1: You are running to high of an RPM for that motor you really need to be at 4200-4600 RPM at WOT. By increasing the pitch you will bring the RPM down back into the torque band of the motor. ]
It sounds like it might be a good idea to try testing some props to get you there. We have the test prop program for just this! Feel free to call me any time and we can do some prop testing and get you dialed in!

Re: 22' Scarab Prop
I run a scarab 22 -98 with the 7.4L carburated engine and im spinning a Miragle Plus 25". My maximum rpm is 4600 and the revlimiter kicks in at 4650 so it seems to be the perfect pitch for my setup
