Kaama,

You shoulda' called Bruce (Crower) or one of his boys up and explained to him their mistake and your situation. I'm sure a pair of their cranks or billet rods woulda' smoothed things out, LOL.

Better able to preven valve float and will keep the lifter on the lobe as the rpms increase.

I ended up changing the cylinder heads I'm going to go with, instead of the "as-cast" AFR 305's, I'm going to get the CNC ported AFR 315's. The intake flow is increased 20+ cfm across the valve lift range, with similar improvements on exhuast flow. More efficiency = more power.

So now I'm looking at:
RPM.........HP.......TQ
2000.......249......653
2500.......322......676
3000.......386......676
3500.......448......672
4000.......503......661
4500.......552......644
5000.......578......607
5500.......580......553

AVG.........452......642

Default A very old Thread from about 24 years ago in 2003

This old Thread makes me think how far along technological advances in the engine industry has come with several and various components like, MLS Gaskets, Lifters, Cnc ported Heads, etc, etc,...and various Cnc Machining Technology.
We've come a long way since 2003 🏁🏴‍☠️🏁🏴‍☠️🏁
