Sorry about that Milord, my mistakee.
Hey, the newer complex graphics look really neat, but what do you see when you're 150' away? The colors all blend together and the scheme looses it's effect. It actually takes on a muddy, blended appearance. That's why I like the bold and simple graphics that you have. Your graphics are not that bad, maybe they're a bit dated, but they fit the boat nicely. I don't think "wild" will fit the boat. Perhaps a checker board flag over the black stripe would do the trick.
I'm looking at your transom here and I think that you could fit the name on either side of the tow ring. That's my prefered location.
I would also not recommend using the chrome vinyl. I used the stuff for my boat numbers, because it disappeared nicely. If you wish, I could forward you some pics so you can see how it'll turn out. You truly can't see it. When I wanted to use the chrome on some larger graphics, they didn't recommend it. The reason was that the chrome would reflect the colors around it (ie the green water) and not give the desired effect. Their recommendation was to use a grey or silver instead.

Hey Jason, Can you send me a few pics of your boat? I would like if I have time this weekend to play with it a bit. I use Photoshop 6 so I can probably come up with a more refined image. I can add another point view.

Hey Jay check out my site. www.kineticanimation.com
I do vinyl lettering for alot of race teams and people in the industry. I can make your name without any seams for you too. I have a 48 inch cutter, but I can't do the fades. They really don't hold up in the sun, either does the chrome, as some one else stated. if you give me a rough size estime I can give you a rough price.

Gary,
First your boat kicks ass
early 80's scarab???
late 70's perhaps
Second, the girlfriend
Yummy yummy hubba hubba
okay
nuff of that
I like the color fading you did and it stands out great on the red background
Especially like the scarab going down the arch as well
Very nicely done, tasteful yet bold and visible
problem is I have a white palatte to work with, this would be much easier with a red pallate but ill nail something down
if not, ill do my best to paint her a metal flake red magenta color that my fiancee likes
decisions decisions
anyway, Gary, thanks for the input and the pic, looks great to me, so why would you sell that boat, it is incredible
What did you replace it with (you dont get rid of a 38 scarab and get nothing)

The boat's an 82. Bought a bare glass hull and redid the whole thing.
Sold it, bought a 42' Chris Craft Commander. 2 state rooms, 2 baths, salon, full galley, AC and generator. Still got it.
But after a year of going 10 mph, I got a 31' Chris Cat, rigged it with Hawk 525SCs and SSM III drives. 108mph on GPS.
That was too much work, upkeep on 2 boats, so I sold it 2 years ago. Now I'm looking for a 21' Skater or 23' Eliminator O/B. I'll never learn.
Anyway, see what I mean about the lettering above the waterline. Most people will see the boat at idle or at the dock, so plan accordingly.
