steering adjustment
I have a Bravo I outdrive on a '98 Hammer. Noticed that the steering wheel is about a half turn out of alignment. There is not much play in the steering, fluid is OK and no detectable cable issues.
When I'm planed out and whether going fast or just enough to keep planed, it seems to be sticky and not smooth. This is constant with a load of passengers or by myself. I only have trim adjustments and no tabs.
Any ideas on what to adjust? I have a Clymer Mercruiser Stern Drive manual, but can't find any troubleshooting suggestions.
thanx.

I had a problem once with the steering cylinder touching the stringer on the starboard side. The steering cable and the powersteering hydraulic cylinder need to have a small amount of swing room. May be a fluid problem also.

thanx Whitey. Can you recommend any shop manuals that address more "fix or replace" and troubleshooting? The Clymer manual I have is OK but appears to be geared towards how to break down major components but doesn't offer suggestions on repairs.
