Post #1 drive

can anyone tell me how much hp a #1 drive can handle reliably? buying a 79 century with a blown motor, i need to know where to start, without going over the drives limits...and im sure ill have many more ?'s on the motor issue...later

260 hp is the most you want to put to that.if you change the gearcase[lower] to an alpha unit it would take 300 if your carefull

A "#1" or a "MR" drive are just older versions of the alpha, and handle 260hp. Like sterndrivespec said the alpha lower will bolt up.
