hydraulic assist steering problem
I have a leak on my hydraulic assist steering. I have had it most of the summer, and just added fluid to get by. I finally put dye in it this weekend to find out where the leak is coming from. It is leaking through the hole in the center of the Brazil manifold, where the rod comes through the manifold. Is there anyway to repair the manifold or do I need to by a new one. If I remember correctly it has a o-ring in that hole. Any help appreciated.

I'm not sure what a "Brazil" manifold is, but it is like the Mercruiser power assist I have on my 91 Formula 272 SR1with twin Merc 454 Mags, it is the same as the one used on Corvettes from around 1970 to at least 1982. So any Chevrolet dealer will be able to get parts for it. Might be cheaper than a Merc Dealer.

I seen another post about the same thing with the WPM steering. I called WPM today and ask if they had problems with some of the Brazil valve. They told me that they had a bad batch about a 1 year and a half ago, and that's about the time I bought mine. So Dan at WPM is sending me another valve out today. Good people to work with, I love dealing with people that take care of problems.
