K-Plane Indicators
#1
I have a 24' Superboat with 280 K-planes. Just a touch of the switch and the boat attitude changes quickly...
I would like to add Mechanical Indicators so that I know where they are.
There is a pipe plug in the K-plane where the cable would go through the hull.
Do I just remove the plug and drill? or do I mark the location then remove the K-plane before drilling through?
Also, how is the hole through the hull sealed up? Lots of 5200 after the cable is in?
Thanks for the help!

I would check out the parts catalog on BAM (look under accessories, miscellaneous, high perf). There you will find the actuator kit (845532a1) for the tab end. You can use the cable grip body as a drill guide for the hold in the transom.
You will also find the different trim position indicators for the dash on the same sight, but you will have to determine which one is right for your application.

Hey Patrick,
Somebody out there makes a "zero slack" indicator setup. There is some kind of inline spring mechanism. It might be Marine Machine. I notice there is a little slack in my setup. Anybody know how to elimate the slack? Also, the red dots for my k-planes do not line up straight. I guess it is not that big of a deal. I'm just thinking it would be nice if I could even them out.

Dave,
I think Stainless Marine's Indicators are supposed to be "Zero Slack".
They are a little less $$ then Gafrig too.
Adding to my Christmas list, hope Santa has them in stock.
