KB,
You can "do the math" on gear ratios and prop pitch, but you are already close. The key is to get close, and then have the props "tweeked" to get you to the desired RPM range at WOT (wide open throttle). A good prop shop can tweek your props, but the best that I have found for Bravo 3 props is Hill Propellers. They are awesome!
Everyone,
Thanks for the compliments. My wife and I really enjoy our boat. I have a GREAT mechanic (Jim Burns of Regency Marine in Rowlette, TX) that I trust. I got the Crownline for its looks, and I got Jim to turn it into a "sleeper". I love surprising non-supercharged "performance" boats with my little "family runabout"!
Every spring I take my props to a local propeller specialist (James Propeller in Dallas, TX), and have the props "cleaned-up", but not repitched, from last year's abuse. They also polish them for me. By the end of the season they are dull again.
Good Luck!

Nice pics Clay. I know what you mean by a SLEEPER....
I had a 200 four winns Bow rider with a 689HP twin turbo engine. She did 85 MPH. the looks I would get when Pulling away from the river hot rods. They would eventually catch up just to see what the hell I had in this thing lol... it was fun. Now I have a Stingray 230SX, I picked that one because Stock with the 502 she does 73 gps. I have a procharger in it , and now I see 87-89 MPH spinning a 32 pitch on a bravo 1 outdrive. Can't wait for spring...
Happy boating

Hello, AKA Mr. Bravo III.
Cool my best subject B3 are the ticket.
I have a 8,600 lb Boat with a 425 Hp W B3.
2.0 ratio with 20 pitch props. 4,800 WOT.
I can throw you out of my lug at mid throttle to WOT, intense. Love the B3. I am the fool that just trilered my boat to florida to go to Bimini = Sweet trip over to the islands.
This was easy with a Bravo III. made all the differance in the world. Docking is easy, no slippage at all under way. dirrect power to prop. Inner prop is 14 1/4, outer prop is 13 3/4. outer prop would cavitate if they are the same size, thus is why the outer is smaller. They are the same pitch, or you will blow up the lower. The case is differant than a B1, internals are the same. Cavitation plate needs to be longer for the two props.
Less stress on back gear and bearing with B3,equal stress with B3, not with B1.
Drive shower is a must with all bravo drives with Balls. My boat only goes 50Mph, not bad for a cabin cruiser. Hole shots are cool, plus I can pull skiers out with no problem. and I am a 26' Carver Lug with macho balls. B3 all the way Baby. Happy boating all. Mr. Bravo III

A couple years back I was told by a Merc rep that the forward prop on a B3 was 2 pitch's higher than the rear prop. So 28" B3 props would have a 29 leading prop and a 27 following prop. I assume it's true but I suppose any prop shop could verify that.
