Tacky Fiberglass

Yup. Reeds right again! Use acetone to clean up.
When glassing, I always keep the roller in a small pail (ice cream pail) with a few inches of acetone in it. That way the roller is always clean and ready to use. When you take it out of the acetone give it a few shakes to remove any excess and even roll it on clean cardboard. If you just leave it laying around the resin will air dry and when you place it on the laminate it will be all sticky and start pulling up fibers.
After you have rolled the glass and the roller is full of resin, place it in the acetone pail and roll it back and forth on the bottom of the pail. This will remove the resin from between the groves and also between the roller and the shaft.
When you are done and ready to clean up, rinse the roller one last time in your pail and then throw out the dirty acetone, replace it with clean stuff and rinse once more. Shake the roller dry and then roll a few times on your hand. If you follow this procedure your roller will last years. I have some over 10 years old.
If you forget to clean it or the resin goes off before you have cleaned it properly and get gelled resin between the groves, you can take a hacksaw blade and run it between the groves to clean them out.
Hope this helps.
Wally.

Thanks for all the help I have done a very little glass work mostly reinforcment of sunpads and the such
This weekend I will tackle the Cigs floor
I am routing out and glassing in stainless backing plates for the bolster mounting bolts. Amzing that it was not don this way from the factory.
They had glass on a non metalic backing plate and just drilled and tapped through the floor.
Can't actually say it was a bad way to do it as it was good for 14 years and the failure was do to my interior guy cross threading one and strip it out.
The stainless backin plate will be the better way to go
