Re: Stringer Replacement Formula 302
I would not worry about blue printing it, on a boat like this you will not see much benifiet unless you plan to put HUGE power in it. I would make a cradle for it. Use 2x12's for support. Do all that and check your bottom first. The bottom on these things is very thick so it is not likely that it goes out of wack if you take some precaucions.

Re: Stringer Replacement Formula 302
I am going to attempt the blueprint just for experience. I am doing this work on an older boat that was free. I do not want to be ctting and grinding on a new boat that cost me well over 50K, but if I learn on this one I may do it to something newer in the future. Thanks for the help

They did a good job at getting the tank to fit and hold...

Jon.....what's the latest????

McFly????????? :D

This job was done a LONG time ago. Building one house and restoring another is keeping me from finishing up other things :(
|
Did you finish the whole boat? Did I miss that?
|
nope you didn't miss it, he's got all the goodies and DONZI 18 to fly around in while working on the houses.:D

I spend 3 years in the composites industry and started hating it after the 2nd year. I have been out for about a year now and have been loving it. Now I have to do this same project plus transem. I am just cringing at the thought of this. haha
Nicely done though. I have to say I would have done everything the exact same way. However its a little unfair you got to use a freakin boat shop and a chop gun...!! Its crazy though. This thread is super old. The last post was almost 4 years ago. So no I have to ask. Where is the boat now? 2004.. wow. I can hardly remember. The money flowed like wine, people ate out ever night and bought a new car or boat once a month. haha |

I was doing a search and came across this thread. One of my earliest memories after joining OSO!

I believe the 302 is still in the garage, a work in progress, Audio?
