The #3 drives are longer and are not a bolt-on swap in place of the TRS. They will handle more horsepower reliably than the TRS. Also, the Speedmasters don't have thru-prop exhaust. But there are a lot of people running fairly big horsepower through the TRS drives with good luck.

The TRS and #3 are VERY different drives. TRS does not have a nose cone and the #3 does. Drive Shaft on them is larger (I think maybe that is only the #3A??) They are taller as Crazy said, and on and on. Not sure how ya talked to over there but maybe they were thinking of the #2???? Even still you can tell the difference fairly easy.

I think the SSM#3 has 19 splines on the shaft and the 3A has a large shaft and 26 splines . Yeah, as Audiofn said, they're very different in appearance from the TRS.
