Default Americn Offshore 2600 ???

I just purchased an American Offshore 2600. I will be putting a 572ci 750hp motor in it. What type of props is everyone running on the AO? Bravo, Hyrdomotive, etc?

Also, what type of speeds can I expect with 750 hp in this boat. I will be happy in the 90's, but some people are saying I could see more?

The only prop that I've found so far to work real well is the Bravo 1. I havn't had a chance to try a Hydromotive yet. If planing is questionable with a bravo, then the hydro won't plane at all. If you are running a really high x-dim take a look at the new 5 blades coming out. I've heard some impressive results by reducing the slip numbers.

The top speed is all up to you and your ability to set the boat up. I have 580hp and mine runs 90mph. I'm also disappointed with that speed because I think it should run almost 100. I've actually had people accuse me of lying, just because they have 150 more hp and are running slower.

Heck I thought racecars only lost 200HP from the dyno to the track. . .sorry for the hi-jack but had to comment.

No the boat is not from the Louisville area.

Thanks for the infor Cord. The people that are setting this up for me know what they are doing, so I should get top performance out of it. I have a lab finished bravo 1 30 pitch that I think I will try for starters. It should give me a good baseline to start from.

If your drive is 1.5, then a 30 won't be enough. I'm running a 1.5 and a 32 for 90. Gotta get that slip down.

I have a 2600 nsx it had a merlin 540 blown in it last summer with app 700hp I ran a 32labbed bravo I prop with a imco drive 1.34 gear ratio I turned that prop 6000 rpms and it was a great prop for it. I have built a 572ci blown dyno results were 800hp at 5200 rpms this winter and I have a 33 labbed hydromotive 5 blade we are going try I will let you know how that prop works out. Speed wise I think you will be very pleased cause that boat should be over a 100mph on gps with 750hp. With app 700hp my boat was 104mph on gps with a very bad slippage problom, slip was like 20%

Yes, the drive is 1.50. I didn't think the labbed 30 bravo would be enough, but it is worth trying to get a starting point. I too have heard good things about the 5 blades and would be interested in any results anyone has from them.
