Question Sea Water pump

Just found oil leaking around the shaft just behind the belt pulley. Looks like the front seal has gone bad. Does anyone know what kind of oil is supposed to be in it to lube the fuel pump arm and shaft lobe. And is there a seal kit available or do I just need to buy a new one.?
Thanks for any help.

Check the oil for an odor of gasoline. The fuel pump can leak and contaminate the oil. If that is the case I suspect the pump seals would not last long as they are deigned for oil and not gasoline. Not sure if you can get a seal kit. If Merc does list one a good supply house may be able to match up the seals. Merc got them somewhere right? They would probably rather sell a pump.

Talking about raw water pump. Dont smell any gas. Getting ready to pull the pulley off to get a better look at the seal. The pulley looks like a power steering pump pulley. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will use the same front seal as the power steering pump. I have some of those at work.
Is the only way to add oil by takeing off the fuel pump or is there a fill plug somewhere? I havent gotten a good look at it yet.

Thanks for replies.

You can get the seals from a Merc dealer, or just get the pt# off the seal and buy from a local bearing and seal supplier for a couple of $$. Not a bad job, just need to disassemble.

Thanks for everyones help. Got the pump off and there was the seal part # right on the front . Local parts store will have the seal tomorrow and I'll be back in business.
Sure beats having to buy a new unit.
