The 28ss with twin bigblocks, trannies, and trs weighs in close to 7000 plus gas you could be up to 8k, with the trailer, you are close to 9k........definitely dont drive in OD, you will blow your tranny!!!!!!!!!

the more gas you give a motor in the lower rpm ranges, for example, hauling a big load and not letting the engine rev a little, the more manifold pressure there is. high manifold pressure is not a good thing. could blow the gasket out and also is high stress on the valves. i'm not saying to redline the thing in one gear down or anything. but there is no harm and is actually better to let the engine breath in one gear down from overdrive, and yes, it will keep the tranny cooler even if the od is not kicking in and out. i have learned this from the aircraft mechanics, aircraft actually have a manifold pressure gauge, so that on the bigger twins that produce 400 horse a piece, that have a variable pitch prop, you don't ruin a 35k engine. not trying to be a prick, it's just my opinion, no one said you had to believe it
