damaged prop effects. Suggestions on props needed.
I am running a set of Mirage 25p's. The leading edge on one of the blades is somewhat damaged. It's not real bad but it is bad enough to notice. The edge of one blade is just chewed up a little.
I'm am wondering how much this is effecting performance.
The boat is a 30' Sutphen. running TRS Drives. Motors are aprox 525 to 550 hp. I can spin the current props to around 5000 but it seems like I am hitting a wall at 5k.
I upgraded the exhaust over the winter I went from the old Merc log style manifolds that dump at the back to a Gil manifold and offshore pipe. I had to step the jets up a from 86 to 90 in the primaries and from 88 to 93 in the secondaries. So I know its making quite a bit more power midrange feels a ton better. But with this change I did not notice any increased RPM at WOT. I am wondering if there is something wrong with the props I am running. The boat seems to go 5k and 72mph no matter what. 4 people full of fuel or 2 people low on fuel.
What would be a good starting point on props to try.
Thanks Rob
