I always scoffed at Quadrajets (Big word of the day). I'm a Mopar guy and always had good luck with my Carters, and never had the need to play with Quadrajets. Now that I'm running Chevy engines (In boats), and have done some research, and learned how to work with the Quadrajets, I can see just how good of a carb it really is. Take some time with the rebuild, and buy some of the excellent books out there on tuning Quads, and you'll be happy with it.

Dennis Moore's book claims better cruise economy and better all around for boats unless you have a special app (mega cam, blower or whatever) I switched to Holleys for a procharger install then decided against the boost but left the carbs. They seem to do well too but I have 450HP's and thought I could tune them better.
"Midnight Express"???? Seems appropriate for a midnight cowboy.

We all learn by our mistakes and I know I've made some good ones. This is why we are here to help each other out. Met with nothing but good people here but guess there's always a bad apple in a bunch. Learned alot as well !
