Got A Pair Of 496 Mags For Sale
JUST WONDERING WHAT A GOOD PRICE WOULD BE FOR A PAIR OF 2000 496 MAGS. THEY RUN PERFECT AND HAVE 160 HRS. ON THEM. ALWAYS PROFESSIONALLY MAINTAINED AND NEVER ABUSED. JUST THINKING OF GOING A LITTLE BIGGER. ANY IDEAS APPRECIATED AND IF INTERESTED EMAIL ME AT [email protected] THANX

I think I have a little good news, not that it really matters. If I'm not mistaken 2001 was the first year for the 496's.

The early HO's had forged cranks, but not the base mags.
2001 was the first (model)year, they may have been shipping in '00, though.

I could be talked into selling mine too, probably. 2003s with 160 hours. It won't be cheap though. I would need enough to buy a pair of 525s. First $40K takes 'em, delivered.

Victory Marine in Texas sells brand new complet 496Mags for about 8500 per motor. Before you sell them you might consider redoing them with our 525Hp kits and upgrade your ECMs. Hell of a lot cheaper than 525HP's and you can put on polished stainless headers, and you'll see 550HP and still have money in your pocket. You should probably also call and verify 525HP's are available, industry people are claiming they are on serious back order. Don't give some dealer a deposit on them until you verify delivery! Just some thoughts.
