Re: Performance mods for 502
I thought you were dead John. Tell Dave1972 my engines are stock except for the exhaust and Harden Marine flame arrestors. Maybe I should go back to the 28p props. Speeds clocked by gps.

Re: Performance mods for 502
I have a 35' 2001 Fountain with 502 mpi's. I had ASM do a computer upgrade, msd ignition, more agressive cam, extruded intake manifold, K&N air filters, Dart Pro aluminum heads and CMI's. I am still using the same props, except I am now turning 5,200 rpms. I had a gps increase from 75 to 79 mph. Not satisfied with the speed increase.
I now either want ASM to do an upgrade to a 540 with 620 hp. Or have ASM do a Vortech with intercooler which would increase hp to 700 hp. Any suggestions? Could I leave the bravos' stock?

If you get the pitch and cupping changed on your props you will make more of the rpm. I'm sure there is more speed left in your setup. I'm working with that right now. I am thinking of the supercharging option now too. I don't think my Bravo 1 will take that abuse though....
