Where do I get Pirelli Flooring
#11
Caveman,
I just ordered some pirrelli flooring from Activa like you recommended. I want to take out the carpet in my Scarab and install this stuff. I bought the HP version because they said its the strongest stuff they have and wont fade as quick as the BR. Also because the BR was $240.00 and I got this stuff for $40.00 shipped because of some minor pinholes in some of the tiles. Linda told me that if I use their glue it will never come off........but Im thinking about replacement in the future so is there another type of glue we can use that isn't so permanent?

got the transom done and am now in the process of getting some motr qoutes for that part (yuck) got to do the engine compartment up and make it all pretty before I start to cut out. Hopefully next season will be able to hit water.
I reamember the log deal, glad all is good on the motors, its not the size just how well you can work it!

Funny, I'm going to cover up my pirelli w/ carpet for next season.
The pirelli has gotten dirty over the last 10 years, and I don't want all the work/cost to replace it. Plus I'd like to try a plush carpet... it should be easier on the feet.

The thing with carpet is that it gets wet and when mine gets wet is takes forever to dry out. Plus I dont want it to go moldy. When it rains here the water seaps through my cover and gets my floor wet. I tried to dry it out for 2 days and it didn't work. I talked to Activa and they did say it will fad in direct sunlight after awhile but so will your carpet.

If you go with carpet I used a company in Georgia called Matworks. Plush
Marine grade carpet with rubber so it does not slide around. Send them a template out of plastic or cardboard and they custom fit it all with finished edges. If it gets wet you can take it out.
Hope this helps.

I got a quote from this company, who were recommended by someone from this site.
I got a sample of the purple... w/ the "Pantera Eyes" logo embroidered into it... I'll be sending them a template this spring!!!

I originally wanted one Peace But It is not available in colors.
I went with the yellow and I think it came out nice. The seams are bearly visible However I would not recommend going with any other Glue other then
there own. It is pretty permanent. It hardens with somewhat of a ply-able,
flexible texture. Removal I would attempt with a Heat gun But I think it could
be done. Durability is pretty good the lighter the color the more it shows.
It has stood up to coolers bouncing on it broken glass, oil and even my gas
grill. However we maintain it after every use with hosing, moping with soapy
water and towel dry looks as good as new. another advantage is it is water
proof.
Rugs are for cabin use only just my 02.

My main concern was a wet floor all the time. We run on the ocean and I like hosing down the entire boat so that the inside had no salt etc. I'm going to take some time to think about it. Maybe I'll wait till the spring when the engines are finished, by then the rug should be totally ruined
