Question Help With Helm Pump

Hi All, I Just Got A 26' Seahawk With Single-ram Non Power Assisted Ext. Steering.the Problem Is The Helm Pump Is Making A Ratcheting Sound When Turned,and Sometimes Locks Up.i Have Bled The System And It Still Does The Same Thing.i Am Pretty Shure It Is A Bad Helm Pump,but Wanted To Get Some Advise On A Good Replacement With Tilt(displacement,and Approx.lock To Lock,price,sources)the Shaft Is 7/8" And Has A Throw Of 9",thanks

They make rebuild kits for them, might be worth the effort to take it apart and look around in there, sounds like you may have a vane damaged.

imco makes a tilt helm. as far as the ratcheting alot of manual hydraulic helms do this. itys the desighn. the best manual helm is by far a capalano unit. 2 different models. displacement is the difference. about 650.00 .
