Default Extension boxes for a 38KV with TRS

Has anyone ever put extension boxes on a 38KV? How did it handle after. I am contemplating doing this with my current setup to help get the props out of the water. I have Speedmaster IIs. The prop centerline sits about 6" below the running surface of the hull.

You're chances of finding boxes for TRS are nil. I looked years ago and was only able to find custom made ones, very expensive. I ended up glassing the transom and raising the drives 2 ". Judging by your previous pics, you could easily raise them that much.

I could make them at work, but was wondering 1. If I need them. 2. How they would affect my planing speed. 3. how they would affect the balance of the boat

I've never heard of deleterious effects of boxes. Just keep in mind you'll also need full external hydraulic steering and special ram mounts made if you use boxes.
I'm also guessing you'll want to raise the drives/engines at least an additional 2-3" more with the boxes. Do you have 6" clearance under your hatches?

Just a standard TRS will raise you I think 2" over the Speedy #2's.

Oh and of course there is the Konrad option. That would bring you up 2 more inches for a total of 4" over what you have now. THEN there is the Konrad speedy that is horny as hell looking. Not sure if that raises the X any more or not.

You would probably bennefit from extension boxes especially if you don't have a notch in your transom----but then every hull is different.

Stelling has about 10 sets of TRS extension boxes sitting in the shop. They're not yet machined and since the old man past away you'll be on your own. They don't have complete Data Tech Packages for some of the older work he was doing so they can't complete the machining. I'm sure you can talk them out of a set as long as you promise not to bug the chit out of them for machine drawings.

Say a 22 Donzi, 500hp or less, TRS - Bullet-proof - YEP.

Bigger boat and get closer to 600hp and you'll change your thinking real quick on that "Bulletproof" idea.........
