Shawn , you can easily drill and tap another hole for the strap. Make sure you don't go to far from original location, you need the slack. BBB it's a #10-32 thread. # 21 drillbit

If The Ring Is Broke scrap It!! Its Not Worth The Risk. I Looked At Repairing The Lower Seal & Bushing Area. Looks Like It's More Work Than U Can Get Paid For. The Seal Area Corrodes And Will Not Weld. Any Salt Water Rings We Have Little Success In Fixing Because You Cant Get The Salt Out Of The Pours. I Think Making A Wear Bushing .002 Over Size Would Take Care Of It. But Once The Seal Dia Corrodes Away It's Finished. That's Only Speaking Of Boats That The Top Of The Ring Sets Under The Water Line.

i have pics of a failure where the trim pins are threaded into the housing with worst case results ........be very carefull there...... i will email the pics if you email [email protected]

Yeah , but I wish I could go get a transom assembly at a department store. If men only ran the world!!! how 'bout a Cuisinart ? Or a Bread Man !!! Or another pair of womens shoes !!!
