Has anyone ever used Manley Severe Duty exhaust valves? Are they OK to use or should I replace them?

application will be a whippled 540.

use inconel for exhaust.

I have seen so many exhaust valves cause major engine problems due to moisture and heat in marine applications. The severe duty may be ok for a car but I would use the EXTREME duty inconel in any HP marine application. The little extra cost more than outways the cost if just one valve siezes up. Bronze guides are also good insurance.
Just my two cents.

We were just talking about this a couple pages ago. Maybe you will find some inteesting reading in this link. Concensus says ferrea is the ticket on exhaust valves due to cost.

Always use a quality Inconel exhaust valve (Manley extreme duty) in a supercharged or turbocharged application- period!!

And, make sure the heads you are using have hardened exhaust valves seats or those inconel valves will pound them to death.

the manley severe duty valve will work on the intake but for the exhaust you need the extreme duty version

i was told that my valves were manley sever duty valves--they do say manley on them but how do i tell for sure??
they say Manley E-W on exhaust and Manley G-X on intake??
