Default Drive shower or not to Drive shower ?

Hello all,
I have been debating adding a drive shower to my 502MPI / Bravo. I do plan to do several poker runs this year and top end is something I love to do so is it a good thing to do or is there a better way to ensure drive will not overheat?
Here is one I am looking at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true
Thanks

My Mechanic has my new to me boat and is adding these now. Different version than yours, but they all function about the same. Wide open for a minute or 2 isn't why you need a drive shower, these cool the drive during expended periods on plane when the top of the drive is out of the water. .......Not recommending this model over another, but get a shower!

Just want to protect my investment. Do you have any recomendations for what design works best?

Any will be better than nothing and just like anything product, everyone thinks what they have works best. This is what we are putting on mine from rexmar.com (rex marine) they are about $100.00 each. These were picked just because I like the way they look more than some of the others.

502SCS,
That ebay item is a Simrek. It is one of the premier units available.
The "Buy It Now" price is a steal seeing a new one is twice that amount.
You'll have $70.00 in to it when you're done.

I would suggest the Halo model over the Summit model in the Simrek brand. Works better. Not sure if the ebay ad is actually a Simrek, as there are a couple of brands just like it, but with different style pickup tips. With that low price, kinda makes me think it is a different brand. Read up on this in this link. I highly recommend the Simrek. But any is better than none http://driveshowers.com/
