Will a cherry picker (engine hoist) work for pulling an engine

out of a cigarette 20 on a myco trailer? Does it go high enough to clear the deck? Has anyone used a cherry picker to do this?

The height I need to clear is 53 inches. The engine is a 350 chevy. The engine height is 32 inches. Thanks for any help or advice.

some do, some don't.. actually most don't....

you just need to make sure you have one that has at least 85" + hook and chain.... can you take it off the trailer? put it on bunks and lower it to the ground, that might be the easiest if you have the room to do that... makes working on it easier to at ground level......

thanks, unfortunately, I don't have that option. I saw one advertised on ebay that said it max lift is 8 1/2 feet. I would assume one like that would work? thanks again sean.

I swaqped a 454 with a 502 in a 208 Islander. I had to raise the tounge to lower the stern but I was able to do it.

Keep in mind that at max height, you might be lacking horizontal distance to be reach into the center of the engine compartment.

Boats still in winter storage. Otherwise I could give you a dim. As above it was tight getting the engine to ballance. Letting air out of tires can gain some room too. I just did things real slow. Hope you figure things out.

I think It maybe easier to just hire a tow truck with a long or adjustable boom to pull it. thanks for your help and advice.
