Re: lightning exhaust
I just bought 2 pr of the polished headers w/ dry pipes for my 600 sc's, to replace the gils. What kind of improvment if any do you think I'll see?(beside the sound) Think I'll need to make anychanges to my duel carb setup?

Re: lightning exhaust
Thanks Fred, I've been doing business with many of you guys and I apreciate the support. Buy them from whoever you're comfortable with. Lightning makes a great product and you just can't beat them for the price. I just can't say enough about the product! Lightning will make up a custom set for you with a minimal extra charge for EGT's, extra length or a custom application. They are an easy company to do business with. I had a custom set made up for a customer who decided to sell the boat after he bought the headers. I took them back for a full refund and had no problem selling them elswhere.
There are a few of us here who LOVE boating and want to make boating affordable for the common guy... or gal... (that's for you Wasabe/Kitten/Speedy/ IA!) I'll help any of you keep it that way. This is my hobby and my passion, if I can help you keep the cost down I will. Fot the love of the sport!!! Fionn |

Go run it and do some plug readings. You might get lucky and not have to make any changes. You should see some improvement in mid range and on the top. I found that we need top fatten them up about 2 jet sizes as a rule of thumb. But ONLY plug readings will tell. You're allways safer going fat and them leaning it out. You can't burn up a motor running too fat. Dry pipes?!?!? Yikes! Got ear plugs? Well at least you'll never have to worry about reversion. |

Re: lightning exhaust
I had two sets of steel ones back in the 90's.
No problems. Though I only owned each set a couple years in FW. Great sound! I ran my last set on a blown BB and ran about 1/2 the water overboard from the collector, with an exterior H-pipe and huge Corsa's. AWESOME sounding combo it was! :D |
