Re: lightning exhaust
I installed a set of Lightning headers a few months ago on my 24' Daytona with a 454 mag. I am very pleased with the increased mid range and a few extra horses up top. Install was easy and looks clean. The price was right as well. Overall I would highly recommend them for anyone looking at true headers. Make sure they send you the water feeds if you go this way.

Re: lightning exhaust
I have lightnings on my blown 540,first put them on blown 502,made NO difference over stock merc on top end but noticeable midrange. They have been trouble free for 4 years and if you ever have any concerns or questions john at lightning headers is very helpful, quality product for fair price! Smitty

Re: lightning exhaust
I tried a set a few boats ago(app. 10yrs ago) I was happy with the mid-range increase in power but after about 2 years one of the pipes cracked internally and let enough water in to take out a couple of valves and a head. Also, make sure they ship the water tubes, they forgot to pack mine, had to wait an extra week to install the headers.

Re: lightning exhaust
I replaced my stainless marines w/ lightning's. The sound quality was a lot better, and it seemed to improve mid and high rpm. Plus side they are more aggressive looking.
