What if only a couple are out of spec? Is it half ass-ed just to fix the ones that are bad, or should they all be sleeved at that time?

DO them all save the aggrivation. And only use the maching method to replace the guides with bronze to prevent leaking.

I hear yea, the thing is I paid X amount of dollars to have the thing rebuilt. I told him to price it to last another 1000 trouble free hours. I wasn't looking for the best deal, I just wanted reliability. Sounds like he is trying to take a short cut.

Not every thing is listed on the quote, I wouldn't think you would reuse the rings if they were OK.
Please let me know what you think.
